About Duke Golf Camp
Train like Champions. Compete with Confidence. Grow Beyond the Game.
Duke Golf Camp Session 1 - June 28 - July 2, 2026
Duke Golf Camp Session 2 - July 6-10, 2026
Duke Golf Camp offers junior golfers ages 11–17 a five-day experience at one of the most prestigious college campuses in the country. Led by Jon Whithaus, Associate Head Women’s Golf Coach at Duke University and founder of Elite Level Golf, this coed overnight camp blends elite instruction and mental training with on-course play in a collegiate environment designed for improvement and joy of the game of golf.
Campers receive direct instruction from NCAA Division I, II, and III coaches. Our camp curriculum is built around technical improvement, strategic development, and mental resilience, while being delivered in a fun and supportive setting. Campers will train at the same facilities that Duke University’s golf teams practice at throughout the school year, including the Rod Myers Varsity Training Center, the Karcher Ingram Golf Center, and the Duke University Golf Club.
Each full day of camp includes instruction, discussion sessions, and course play tailored to campers’ goals and next steps in their golf game.
Duke Golf Camp’s Instructional Philosophy
Technical Fundamentals - Full swing, short game, putting, and course management
Mental Training - Confidence-building, self-belief, competitive focus, while building enjoyment into the improvement process
Strategic Development - Shot selection, scoring strategies, and tournament preparation
Personalized Instruction - Individualized coaching including one-on-one discussions of strategies to continue on a trajectory of improvement in the future
Instruction is paced to maximize engagement and retention, alternating between one-on-one coaching, small group sessions, and competitive formats. Coaches tailor their approach to each camper’s skill level, ensuring meaningful progress for beginners and advanced players alike.

Our overall camper to coach ratio is 7:1. Campers are placed into small instructional groups and are assigned a camp coach for the week. Then, their group is assigned to a "pod", where they often interact with the other two groups in their pod. By the end of the week, campers will have spent a lot of time with their camp coach and a significant amount of time interacting with two more camp coaches that are part of their pod. Additionally, there are two coaches who float from group to group and camper to camper throughout the week to give even more support with instruction.
By the end of the week, campers will have had significant interaction with those two collegiate coaches as well, for a total of significant exposure to at least 5 collegiate coaches.

We group campers by age first and then by ability. We've found that when campers are grouped by age first, they get more out of the camp sessions as they often have the same questions for their camp coaches as their same-aged peers.
Our coaches are great at differentiating instruction to each campers' skill level, so whether campers have just started playing golf or they're one of the top players in the world, all campers will walk away from camp with helpful feedback and a week full of instruction matching their current skills and goals.

Enrolled campers will be sent specific information about dining, dorms, logistics, and more in spring 2026.
